The final contribution is this beautiful Carved Owl and Skull Necklace from Monster Brand. It's made from hand-carved buffalo bone and so you will own a unique work of art if you own this necklace.

This Black Cat Skull Necklace has a vintage feel and is an unusual mix from the Haus of Hell. It is the most unusual cameo I have ever seen. A little creepy yes but there is something lovely about it too.

I really love this Bird Skull Necklace Cluster from Moon Raven Designs is stunning. There is a crow, hummingbird and sparrow skull and can be worn in many ways. I love stacking jewellery and each skull compliments each other. Simply beautiful.
I have posted a lot of edgy stuff lately but I also love diamonds. I love it so much I have diamonds tattooed on my arm. So today I decided to post some of the lovely jewels from the Oscars.
Jennifer Garner wore an incredible vintage Neil Lane Necklace and really wowed. The neckline of her Gucci dress really showcased the piece. My favourite of the night.
Next up is Sandra Bullock. I love her Harry Winston Hair Jewellery. The simplicity of her hair and other jewellery ensured that the hair clip had our focus.
An unusual jewellery choice from Rachel Zoe had both Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway wearing their necklaces backwards. Jennifer wore simple yet beautiful Chopard Necklace and Anne wore a more striking Tiffany & Co Necklace.
Finally Jennifer Hudson wore a pair of stunning Sutra Opal Earrings. You couldn't always see them under her lovely long locks but when you did they were stunning.

I love polished jewellery but there is something wonderful about handmade pieces. I really like the earrings by KooKooCraft. Edgy jewellery is great but why not mix it up with this cute contribution.

The next few posts will be from Etsy which is an amazing resource for creative and unique jewellery. Today's contribution is from Gillyflower Designs. This Lego Skull Bracelet is one such example.

I am so excited to share some news with you. My amazing friend Rachel has a wedding blog called 'Marry Me Ink'. It is filled with beautiful, creative and unique brides who adorn themselves in not only jewellery but tattoos.
As a heavily tattooed woman I love her unique voice and how she shows these incredible women in all their glory on such a special day.
Often people assume they know what type of person I am because I have tattoos (that can be both positive or negative). Each one of us is unique and beautiful in our own way and my tattoos are a facet of my style. It is an expression of something within.
As of today I will be writing her Accessories Ahoy posts. It is such an honour for me. I will of course have a health jewellery contribution, however, it does provide me an opportunity to include other accessories. I hope you check it out and enjoy the daily inspiration that I post here. My first contribution is Brooch Bouquets. Pop by and take a look.

Here is a first. I am posting a skull watch image. I haven't posted a watch before but I had to when I came across this piece. The Daniel Strom Agonium Watch called "Memento Mori, Carpe Diem" is more than a watch. How could I not include it?

I am a big fan of DeviantART. They have so many incredible artists and one such is Genevieve-Amelia. Her pieces are captivating. On her page is this stunning Mink Skull Necklace. The sparrow wings and semi-precious stones along with the skull feel otherworldly and spiritual and yet deeply rooted in the earth.

The yearly ball for the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art is always an amazing evening. Whether it is Katie Perry in a light up dress or Jessica Biel looking sophisticated it is a night of fashion. I am so excited for this year's ball in May. The theme is Punk: Chaos to Couture. Punk has never really left the fashion landscape since it arrived in the 70's. Think Alice Dellal.
Cool, edgy and striking. The main things you think of when thinking punk usually include studs and safety pins. With that in mind here are a few punk inspired pieces.
First up in studs. Studs are everywhere and don't look to be disappearing any time soon. This Isis Triple Stud Ring from Frank & Doll has the stud factor and I love that it is in distressed silver.
This Midnight Stud Necklace from Asos gives a fashion twist to punk.
If you want something I little more designer then this Mawi Crystal Spike Necklace in rose gold makes a statement.
How about something a little more understated like this Maria Black Roxy Necklace in gold for a subtle option.
If studs are not your thing then try safety pins like this Safety Pin Necklace from the Unexpected Boutique.
If punk is a little to edgy for you why not try a safety pin bracelet like this one. This post by Rags to Couture gives you step by step instructions. It is also getting into the spirit of punk. People made or customised what they had in the 70's to create the look in the first place.
Whatever your style is you can always incorporate a bit of the punk style and maybe a bit of the attitude to your day. You may not want to spread anarchy but we can all fall into the trap of other people's expectations. It doesn't hurt to be inspired by the past to make your own path in the future.
Another unusual combination for today. We have the Shell & Skull Ring by MerCurios. This etsy shop captured my eye once I this 14 Karat Rose Gold Skull Ring. Two things I wouldn't have thought to put together but I am so glad someone did.

If you have visited my blog before you would be forgiven in thinking it is a tad contradictory. I have high end glitzy pieces worn by celebs on the red carpet and then hard edgy skulls. To be honest I am full of contradictions. I like both and both are a part of me. I am covered in tattoos and love edgy quirky style. However, I am captivated by the incredible pieces created by design houses that the celebs get to dress up in at award shows. Maybe I am a magpie at heart. Well today is the perfect mix of the two.
The Dior Joaillerie 'Kings and Queens' Collection combines amazing craftsmanship, classic and sophisticated diamonds and gemstone skulls that bring a great edge to the pieces. It is like the jewellery equivalent of Audrey Hepburn sporting a tattoo. I for one would have loved to see that.

I can't believe it is day 17 and I haven't yet had a real skull piece. Here it is. This is the Bat Skull Bracelet from Bone Jewelry. The beautiful combination of the filigree cuff and the delicate skull seem to both compliment and contrast simultaneously. They have heaps more to check out.

I was recently introduced to the work of Joji Kojima through the Skull Appreciation Society. When exploring the website I found this image of his Coin Skull from the 2010 Hotel Gluttony Collection. Each piece is unique and is made from an antique US silver dollar.

Happy Valentines Day everyone. In keeping with this romantic day here is a picture of the lovely Kat Von D wearing her skull engagement ring. I also adore the black diamond.

The Daughter of David Skull Trio Ring from Bank Fashion makes a statement without kicking your door in. If you want a bit of edge and not feel like your hand is overpowered this is for you.

One of the regular reads has to be the Skull Appreciation Society. This isn't the first or the last time I will be mentioning this blog. I came across this beauty last night and had to share it as my post for today. This is the Dancing Skull Ring by Joji Kojima. Lady Gaga has already embraced this unique designer and I have too.
With Valentine's Day in a couple of day's I thought I would post some love themed jewellery.
Cliche I know.
When I think of jewellery and hearts there are always two main jewellery designers who spring to mind. The first is Tiffany & Co. Tiffany is synonymous with classic beauty and sophistication. Just think Audrey Hepburn. One of the most iconic Tiffany pieces is the Heart Tag Toggle Necklace.
Tiffany have some stunning timeless heart pieces. One of my favourite pieces is the Paloma Picasso Modern Heart Ring. This ring is so in keeping with the classic beauty of Tiffany. I love the effortlessness of the piece. It's not trying to hard. You can wear it every day.
The second is Vivienne Westwood. I think of Kate Moss when I think of Vivienne Westwood. Kate is stunning, unique, unafraid and sexy. That sums up Westwood's jewellery. There is something very striking and recognisable about her pieces. Her orb necklaces are one such piece. The Diamante Heart Pendant in Red has a heart in the place of the orb and represents friendship and love.
I also love the matching bracelet.
They are so many varieties of heart jewellery out there for whatever your style is. Whatever they look like I am sure the sentiment is the same. It has been said that if we don't love ourselves we cannot truly allow ourselves to be loved by others. Whatever your romantic status is why not get yourself a little heart jewellery and show yourself a little love.

Want candy cuteness with an edge? No one does it quite like Vivienne Westwood. This Skull Bead Drop Necklace from the Spring/Summer 2011 Skull Bead Collection was so tasty I had to share it. I would love this any season and any year.

Earrings with skulls can be simple or striking. This pair from Mint Flamingo are both. The Triangle and Skull Earring combination have strong simple lines and you can get it in several colours.

I came across Regal Rose a few months ago and couldn't help but snap up their knuckle rings. They have so many great pieces. This Ravel Skull Collar Chain from them is next on the shopping list.

I love The Great Frog London. If you follow the lovely Kat Von D she wears their jewellery a lot. Here is one of my favourites. This Skull Bracelet is packed full of skull loveliness.

During this years Golden Globes Julianne Hough decided to make an unusual statement by wearing earrings containing a real scarab beetle and stick insect. This unusual material choice came from a collaboration with Daniela Villegas.
I personally may not want to wear bugs on my ears but I love the spirit of pushing the envelope. Jewellery artist Marta Mattsson also likes using unique materials. On her website she describes that she sees 'beauty in things that other people find strange or even repulsed by'. She uses 'dead creatures' in her pieces to 'evoke wonder'. I have to admit that her pieces are wondrous.
There are so many incredible pieces but I decided to share just a few from her Rebirth/Skin, Camouflage and Fossils collections.
'The Nest' Necklace is made from butterflies, goatskin, nylon thread and gold. So heavenly. I have never seen anything like this before.
Another piece from the Rebirth/Skin collection is this 'Moths' Pins made of Goatskin and reindeer skin. Just don't tell my son. He may be afraid that is is made from Rudolf.
The Amber Brooch from the Camouflage Collection is made from beetle, resin, glitter, walnut wood and silver.
Another stunning pieces is from the Fossils range as seen here photographed by Ismail Malikov on her blog. This necklace is made of Cicadas, crushed pyrite, resin and silver.
Here is the Fossils necklace made of cicadas, crushed copper ore, gold glitter, resin and silver.
I hope you find these pieces inspiring. I truly believe that jewellery is art. These pieces prove that. Complete masterpieces.

Today I have the unusual Rosie Skull Ring from Cardinal of London. I love the fact that this skull has hair. Should I be jealous that it's hair is nicer than mine.
